It’s rentree time and S.P.A.N. is back with it’s second full season since it’s rebirth, providing support and informational meetings to parents of kids with developmental delays.

Meetings are conducted in English, but we consistently have a bilingual group that allowed for non-English speakers to positively participate and feel mutual support.

Support meetings will mostly take place the first Thursday of the month, and psychologist, Marieke de Bree will lead the group, encouraging parents to take care of themselves as much as they take care of the kids.
20h-20h30 mingle
20h30 – 22h, official meeting time with Marieke de Bree
All support meetings take place at 133 avenue Emile Zola, 75015.
Cost for support group participation per family: 30€ total, l’annee scolaire 2015-2016

We will have two informational meetings this year, and when they occur, they will take the place of the support meeting that month.  It will start at 19h and will give everyone, parents and professionals, one hour to mingle, and then a one hour presentation.
Meeting normally take place at KidJam, Salle St Alexis, 11 rue du Docteur Roux, 75015.

Happy Rentree!

It’s Back to School time in Paris and SPAN is back with lots of good things coming.
Some controversial topics came up over the summer.  Gluten in Probiotics for one and the new trend: GUT healing (not so new at all, but very trendy)

Here is an article to shed some light.  Remember, like it or not, you can get way better probiotics by gut-friendly foods like sauerkraut.  And you can make it at home.  Just takes a little time!

MINUTES from SPAN Spring Nutritional/GAPS diet meeting, May 28th 2015, 19h30 at KIDJAM

SPAN Nutritional GAPS meeting Minutes.28.5.2015

Thank you for inviting me to talk about the GAPS program to your group. I really enjoyed it, and enjoyed meeting the people! Thank you for the Minutes as well.

The question about botulism and raw honey: I don’t know really… but I would not add any honey to a baby’s food until he/she is about 2 years old. What they need the most is meat, broth, liver, egg yolks, and pureed vegetables and fruits.
Best regards,
